Even perfect women need confidence

I bumped into a woman today who gave me a compliment on my shoes. She continued to go on and say that I looked very put together and I began to predict that I was going to be asked to sell Mary Kay. (not a bad thing mind you... just an approach I had seen done this way - :)

She went on to introduce herself and ask what I did for a living. When I mentioned to her that I conducted and designed customized corporate training and also provided confidence building women's seminars, she looked at me and said "of course you have confidence.. .look at you. How could you not be confident." I had to smile and then said "hold on chickee... beauty and perfection are in the eye of the beholder. I know size two women who feel fat and gorgeous models who don't like where they are in life, as well as powerhouse corporate women who are harboring a lot of guilt over family life." Perfect has persepctive and confidence comes from how accurate your perspective is. Even perceived to be perfect women need confidence.

Today is the day that you remain confident no matter what. It is also the day that you confidently choose what issues you will take on from others and what ones you will just let them keep for themselves!
Enjoy your day!

Contagious Confidence Conference for Women - Health and Fitness Focus!

It's here! It's here! The second in this series of four Contagious Confidence Conferences has been announced! This conference will focus on the Health and Fitness portion of our lives that so many of us don't make time for. The day will feature not only Monica Wofford, as she presents information on stress management and making time to take care of you, as well as her own weight loss struggles and attempts at permanent exercise programs - it will also give you a chance to hear from Wendy Chant, founder and owner of Nutrition Boot Camp and Forever Fit.

This woman is a former body builder, marathon runner, well-educated nutritionalist, and a realist. I asked her if we could still serve Chocolate and yummy food at this conference and she said "Yep! and I'll even teach the how to eat that stuff and STILL be healthy!" I can't wait and want to see you there. Mark your calendar for Februrary 29, 2008 and register today at http://www.contagiousconferences.com/!

The History of the Clothespins

At our recent conference in November, so many of you asked me where the heck did the clothespins come from and what do they mean?

Our graphic artists at Accent Design (www.goaccent.com), Mary Lynne and Betsy, came up with that one for the original CD set we created under the name Contagious Confidence (http://www.monicawofford.com/Products.html). The subtitle of this CD series is Learn how to Stand Proud in Any Crowd and the clothespin logo seemed to fit as one clothespin was a different color from the other and wore a hat. Mary Lynne and Betsy are the same graphic artists who create much of the material you see for the Boston Red Sox, so they are the pros in this area and I trust their judgement implicity.

Since that logos inception, it has grown in popularity and women have told me they identify with it. It's a little quirky, kind of fun, and has a uniqueness about it. I even had one woman tell me she identified with it as a symbol of "womenhood" because women are the ones who usually use clothespins in the kitchen and laundry room. It has become our symbol of fun concepts, unique people, and the focus on women for our Contagious Conferences. For each conference in the series the third clothespin changes color - red for the Foundational course, blue for the health and fitness course, green for finance and yellow for relationships/communication. Enjoy!
